Jessie Bates III (born February 26 1997) is an American football safety with the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played his college football during his time at Wake Forest.

As a redshirt freshman in 2016, Bates played in all 13 Wake Forest games. Bates returned 18 kicks, totalling 75 yards and also tallied five interceptions (two returned to score touchdowns) 100 tackles (3.5 for loss) as well as four deflections of passes along with one forced turnover. Following the season the player was selected as a member of the USA Today Freshman All-America Team,the All-ACC Second-Team, and the ACC All-Freshman Second-Team.

He attended the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and completed the majority of combine drills, but opted to skip the bench press.
